Clear the way for heating oil delivery
Shovel/plow a 10–12 ft‑wide path for the truck and a safe walkway to the fill. Spread sand and ice melt on ice and mark the edges after heavy snow. Secure pets and unlock gates.
Check the tank & vent
Make sure the vent whistle works and the fill cap is accessible. If your gauge is stuck or fogged, we can verify with a dipstick. Remove snow from the vent to avoid blockage.
Day of heating oil delivery: what we do
Our driver confirms the address, inspects the fill/vent, listens for the whistle during fill, and performs quick safety checks. If something isn’t right, we’ll pause and explain the next steps.
Stay available
If possible, be reachable by phone in case we need access info or to verify order size. For steep driveways or narrow lanes, tell us about the best approach and turn‑around spots.
After the fill
Check for any fuel odors, review your slip, and note your new gauge level. If you ran out before the heating oil delivery, we may need to prime and restart your burner—just let us know when ordering.
Pro tip
Order before major storms and keep at least ¼ tank during deep winter. Automatic heating oil delivery provides priority routing during the busiest weeks.
